Dr Brown, a Partner of the firm, also supervised the construction. He was also a long standing member of the Anglo-Turkish Society. Harvey Binnie, a Freeman Fox engineer, was part of the team and is therefore able to give a first hand account. A biography of Dr Brown by David Boxall, with contributions by Celia Brown, was recently published, and copies of “Bill Brown’s Bridges” were available for sale during the evening.
